KTA is seeking an experienced and licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our growing water tank inspection team at our headquarters near the Pittsburgh International airport with expected travel demands between 10-20%. This role requires a technical expert with strong project management skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant solutions. The position is expected to begin in early 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Develop plans, specifications, technical memoranda, and cost estimates for water tank inspections and maintenance.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
- Oversee and conduct field activities, including site inspections, data collection, and report preparation.
- Engage with clients, deliver presentations, and coordinate project activities with various stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Attend and present at national and regional industry conferences.

Key Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Metallurgical and Materials, or a related Engineering field.
Registered PE or currently have an EIT and plan to obtain the Professional Engineer (PE) license.
5+ years of progressive experience in the water/wastewater industry and working knowledge of AWWA and/or NFPA standards.
AMPP (Association for Materials Protection and Performance) Certified Coating Inspector or Protective Coatings Specialist (PCS) certification. – desired
