Thank you for joining Pittsburgh Hires Veterans and Vitalant for our first Virtual Blood Drive.
The blood drive took place at the 10 Greater Pittsburgh Vitalant locations during the week of June 28 through July 4. Approximately 50 donors turned out to help replenish the local blood supply.

Every day, patients – and their families – count on generous volunteer blood donors to make sure that lifesaving blood is available. If you couldn’t make it during the blood drive week, it’s not too late, use group code D061 when making your appointment or mention Pittsburgh Hires Veterans when you check in for your appointment.

Call 412-209-7000 or visit vitalant.org/pittsburghveterans to make your appointment.

In June, Vitalant began testing all blood donations for antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. A positive antibody test does not mean that someone is immune to COVID-19, it does mean that they may be eligible to donate convalescent plasma and help people who are still recovering from coronavirus infection.  Learn more here.
