Key Responsibilities

+ Perform field inspections to ensure construction aligns with plans, specifications, and applicable standards

+ Collect materials samples (soil, concrete, asphalt) and document testing results

+ Monitor construction quality, progress, and workmanship

+ Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and photo documentation

+ Identify and communicate non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions

+ Ensure compliance with PennDOT, local, and federal requirements

+ Observe, document, and report jobsite safety concerns

Requirements

+ B.S. in Engineering, Science, Environmental or related field preferred

+ Experience in construction inspection, civil engineering, or construction management preferred

+ Familiarity with roadway, bridge, or heavy civil construction preferred (PennDOT experience preferred)

+ Strong attention to detail with solid documentation and communication skills

+ Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments

+ Valid Driver's License

+ Certifications are a plus or willingness to obtain: ACI Field Testing Technician, NICET Highway Construction, PennDOT Concrete, NECEPT Asphalt

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

+ Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

+ Ability to safely access and navigate active construction sites

+ Capable of walking on uneven terrain

+ Work environments may include office and field settings, with exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and weather conditions
