**Experienced CT Surgery PA needed for a long-term locums opportunity with an established cardiovascular surgery program.**

This assignment offers a balanced mix of OR, inpatient, and clinic responsibilities with a predictable daytime schedule and no routine call requirements.

**Position Highlights**

+ 6-8 month assignment with potential for extension

+ Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

+ No call required

+ Looking for at least 10 shifts per month

+ First assist role in cardiac surgery

+ Daily Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)

+ Mix of OR, inpatient rounding, and outpatient clinic

+ Epic EMR

+ Collaborative team environment with dedicated cardiac surgery providers

**Clinical Responsibilities**

**Operating Room**

+ First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures

+ Endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)

+ Perioperative patient management

**Inpatient**

+ Postoperative cardiac surgery management

+ Rounding on surgical patients

+ Admissions and discharges

+ Consults

+ Order entry and documentation

+ Removal of drains and pacing wires

**Clinic**

+ Postoperative follow-up visits

+ New patient evaluations alongside surgeons

+ Preoperative education and preparation

+ Patient and family counseling

**Case Mix**

The practice cares for a broad spectrum of cardiac surgery patients, including:

+ Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)

+ Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)

+ Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)

+ Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)

**Required Qualifications**

+ NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant

+ Active PA license or ability to obtain licensure

+ BLS Certification

+ ACLS Certification

+ DEA Registration

+ Minimum 2 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery PA experience

+ Recent Endoscopic Vein Harvesting experience required

+ Comfortable functioning independently in OR, inpatient, and clinic settings

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Strong first assist experience

+ Experience with high-acuity cardiac surgery patients

+ Previous Epic EMR experience

+ Experience utilizing multiple EVH platforms
