**Description**

The Kietrys Lab at Carnegie Mellon University is looking for a Special Faculty Researcher starting at September/Octorer 2026. Specifically, this position will focus on studying the role of circular RNAs and their interactions with proteins in neurodegenerative diseases. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team of chemists, molecular biologists, and bioinformaticians to predict mechanisms ruling the early changes in neurons.

**Qualifications**

Candidates holding a PhD in Chemistry/Bioinformatics/Molecular Biology/Neuroscience, or in a related field are encouraged to apply. Applicants should outline how they possess the following attributes required for the position:

+ Strong record of working with RNA-protein interactions.

+ Experience in methodological development of _in cellulo_ and _ex vivo_ techniques

+ Familiarity with high-throughput computing, especially in transcriptomics.

+ Experience in cell culturing, including iPSC and neuronal cells.

+ Experience in work with small-scale RNA isolation, labelling and visualization.

+ Experience in expression, recombination, labelling, visualization and quantification of proteins.

+ Initiative and interpersonal skills with desire and ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
