Dr. Ronald Poropatich is the Director of the Center for Military Medicine Research, Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. He is an experienced Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine physician who served 30 years on active duty in the U.S. Army. Dr. Poropatich retired in 2012 at the rank of Colonel with assignments at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and as Deputy Director of the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center at Fort Detrick. He is also a long-standing educator and faculty member at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Science in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Poropatich has more than 60 publications and edited two books on Telemedicine.
