Description
Overview
Experienced Engineer responsible for the adequate quality of all products including purchased product through review of customer specifications during and after quote stage, the development and maintenance of component plans, quality plans, procedures and specifications, performance of internal and supplier audits and the investigation and correction of causes for nonconformance. This position will require 25% travel to suppliers.
Responsibilities

Reviews customer specifications as requested by Applications Engineering and provides Elliott comments and exceptions to quality, inspection, and testing related items.

Develops and maintains quality plans and component plans for standard parts and components.

Writes and submits contract deviation requests on quality requirements for Project Manager's submittal to customers.

Plans, writes and issues procedures to meet the requirements of Elliott quality initiatives, including reviews of department standard procedures.

Assists Applications and Project Engineering in development of Special Engineering Instructions for Elliott products.

Participates on Product Action and Problem Prevention Teams for the development of requirements for standard products.

Leads audits of supplier quality systems, Elliott quality systems, and Elliott processes.

Works to prevent recurring problems by recommending and initiating corrective action requests based on nonconformance reports.

Creates, reviews, approves and/or acts upon various reports for purchased and manufactured products, i.e.- nonconformance reports, purchase order quality requirements, Corrective Action Requests, inspection records, manufacturing data books, etc.

Facilitates customer witness of testing and inspections activities.

Support (act as back up) Manager, global Supply Chain Quality /

Sub manages Supplier Pre-inspection meetings. Technical supplier meetings, and source inspection meetings coordination's. New supplier development meetings Supplier Quality Audit meetings

Leads Non-conformance management of key problems for corrective actions reports (CARs).

Handles Customer Equipment inputs, 992's -suppliers request for deviations and NCR dispositioned as a supplier defect.
Scope

Medium size projects of moderate to advanced complexity.

Significant portions of large projects.
Technical Expertise
-
Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection methods and procedures, inspection equipment, nondestructive testing techniques and quality engineering including analytical skills.

Thorough knowledge of Elliott product specifications and features including design/manufacturing principles.

General knowledge of the principles and processes of quality initiatives.

Key Requirements
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Quality, Engineering or other related technical field, and 4 years’ experience is required or an Associate’s degree with 7 years’ experience.
Obtains and maintains at least one Quality Certification such as an American Society for Quality (ASQ) CQE, CQA, CQT, CQM, CRE, Six Sigma Black Belt or NDE Level III (Various disciplines) is required.
This position requires the ability to travel up to 25%
