The Maintenance Technician performs duties independently or with sub-contractors that maintain cleanliness and safety for ONSE, its affiliates, and tenants.
Responsibilities
- Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors as needed.
- Removes stains from rugs, walls, and floors using environmentally safe cleaning solutions.
- Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment.
- Assists tenants with:
- Building entry card creation and deletion.
- Building security readers and doors.
- Maintenance requests that are submitted via Zendesk.
- Inspects and conducts routine preventative maintenance with subcontractors including:
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Ice machines
- Water filters
- Ballasts
- Roof top units
- Roofs
- External sprinkler system
- Life safety systems (fire extinguishers, fire alarm pull station, exit doors, strobe lights, elevators, defibrillators, generator, suppression system, and internal sprinkler system).
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge and skills using hand tools and power tools.
- Strong working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical (assisting electrician) sub-contractor equipment repair, painting, and janitorial.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
- Written and oral communication skills including answering questions from customers and clients.
- Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years of related experience.
- Technical College coursework preferred.
