Description
The Gift Processor I is responsible for recording, processing and balancing the deposit of gift and membership monies, as well as the accurate maintenance of biographical, financial and campaign data in all donor records of the department’s computerized database system. Also responsible for the accurate completion of matching gift forms, preparation of membership benefits packages for mailing, and various filing and data entry tasks as required by supervisor.
This is a temporary benefits eligible position expected to run through March 1, 2026.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- One to three years of data entry or processing financial data required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Requires good typing and word processing skills, strict attention to detail and accuracy, good written and oral communications skills.
- Required to meet daily and weekly productivity goals, including but not limited to speed, volume, and accuracy.
- Prefer familiarity with relational database, especially, Raiser’s Edge 7. Strong experience Excel experience is essential, especially working in macros.
- Must have ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and to interact well with all levels of staff, community leaders and general public.
- Patience, teamwork orientation, and a sense of humor highly desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is primarily sedentary in nature; no special demands are required.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Processes gift and membership monies and pledges via check and credit card. Processes online gifts using macro.
- Performs accurate biographic and financial data entry determining and assigning correct campaign information, revenue accounts, membership level classification, expiration dates, and other pertinent information.
- Reviews teammates’ batch proofing reports and reviews biographical data entry for accuracy.
- Runs deposit report, ensuring that financial data is in balance with money and charges to be deposited. Also reviews deposit report for revenue account errors.
- Edits and corrects as necessary.
- Prepares batches for daily deposits.
- Prepares copies of backup documentation (i.e. check, correspondence, etc.) for distribution to appropriate personnel.
- Merges acknowledgements and prints tax receipts.
- Prints membership cards.
- Helps prepare membership benefit packages for mailing.
- Files batch paperwork.
- Prepares matching gift forms for signature by appropriate financial officer.
- Copies forms and maintains matching file.
- Performs other data entry as required, including building mailing lists and editing/correcting donor and prospect records.
- Assists in the execution of special member or donor events as required.
- Executes independent action and organizes own work.
- Accomplishes responsibilities in a timely fashion, meeting daily deadlines for deposit of monies.
- Maintains satisfactory work output relative to the standards of the position.
- Performs special projects and support as needed to meet the goals of the department.
