Description
ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN (multiple openings):
As an ‘Electrical Technician’ you will provide support through the assembly, remediation, and performance testing ensuring each assembled product is properly functioning. You will also be responsible for inspection of Company’s product adhering to regulations and safety standards. Must be able to read and understand drawings and blueprints, troubleshooting issues, energize and discharge batteries at 1500 volts and more would be a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Use various hand and power tools correctly and safely to assemble sub-assemblies and products.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, and bills of materials.
- Ability to use measurement devices safely and correctly.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to inspect sub-assemblies and assemblies.
- Extensive ability to troubleshoot electronic and mechanical issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspection of the energy block when received to insure no issues.
- Install Battery Management System (BMS) and string boards.
- Perform initial testing.
- Inspect subassemblies and/or assemblies for defects by operating specialized test equipment, measurement devices, and visual checking. Identify and correct defects appropriately.
- Verify use of correct materials by inspection and parts lists; identify and correct process and material defects.
- Troubleshoot issues both electronically and mechanically.
- Point of contact on shift for updates on progress to department manager / supervisor.
- Monitor data recorders, collect, and analyze data, and change test parameters.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (Seeking candidates from entry-level to senior level)
- Electrical Technician Associate: No experience required, AS degree in electrical required (or electronics)
- Electrical Technician Level I: 2+ years of electrical experience, AS degree in electrical required (or electronics)
- Electrical Technician Level II: 5+ years of electrical experience, high voltage experience required, industrial/manufacturing electrical experience required, journeyman electrician preferred, AS degree in electrical required (or electronics)
Additional information:
- Pay: $22-30/hr. (depending on experience) / $1.50/hr. shift differential working 2nd or 3rd shift
- 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift positions available (really prefer candidates willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift …these shifts do NOT rotate and are more readily available)
- 1st shift: 7 AM – 3 PM / 2nd shift: 3 PM – 11 PM / 3rd shift: 11 PM – 7 AM
- Workdays: Monday through Friday
- Location: East of downtown Pittsburgh (company is also on a bus route)
Key Requirements
- Electrical Technician training through a certification and/or degree
- Open to Electronic, Instrumentation and/or Controls training through a certification and/or degree
- Must be comfortable working with low & high voltage
