Description

PITT OHIO, a $900 million, high service, highly profitable, transportation solutions provider offering SUPPLY CHAIN, GROUND, LTL and TRUCKLOAD services is seeking a Continuous Improvement Summer Intern. This internship position is located at our corporate headquarters in the Strip District area of Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities

• Create and/or update SOPs and process flowcharts
• Build/maintain Productivity reports within PowerBI
• Terminal technology testing and analysis
• Data collection and analysis
• Cross functional communication
• Department project organization
• Simulation model design
• Support the other Engineers in the department
• Other duties as required

 

Projects:

• Maintain and develop reports within PowerBI
• Help update Terminal SOPs
• Utilize Visio to create process flowcharts
• Assist the Engineering team with BOL Imaging implementation and data analysis
• Assist the Engineering team with Dock Scanning testing and analysis
• Assist the team with other reporting and project requirements

Qualifications

• Must be majoring in Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Business Intelligence and/or another Engineering/Analytical related discipline
• Completed at least Sophomore year at a University/College

• Minimum GPA of at least 3.0

• Must be competent and proficient in Microsoft Office Software products
• Experience in process improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies
• Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI or another Business Intelligence software is a plus
• Experience with SQL and/or Snowflake are a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in data analysis and process improvement tools
• Outstanding time management and organizational skills
• Persuasive presentation skills
• Fluent command in the English language is required to efficiently communicate with internal and external customers
